As Caroline’s craft is such a tangible one, with a studio filled with silks, lace, buttons, ribbons and jewels, it was essential that my publication had a very tactile quality. I achieved this by using beautiful papers in various colours that reflected the colour palette of her silks, I used her sewing machine to stitch the timeline, pinned in fabrics, handmade envelopes and pockets, used photo mounts from the 80s for her vintage photographs, and made a fabric sample page of all the silks featured in the book
